As I have stated in previous posts, I rarely give 5 stars. This place was exceptional in every way. We were a party of 10, and none of us had a single complaint about anything. From menu choices to service, prices, and portion sizes. Everything was just awesome. I live an hour away from here, and I will definitely be back. Ya'll keep up the good work!!

It was 26 degrees when we left our lodging in Maryville TN this morning. The sun had just come up and, brrr, it was cold. My wife and I have stopped at the Lamp Post before so our first destination was to stop for some hot coffee and home cooked food. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The servers and cooks were smiling and happy. The restaurant was inviting us to enter and get warm. The filtered coffee was steaming hot and inviting. We sat at the bar for a good view at the cooking show. We had a great breakfast and show. The food is terrific and worth the wait. Sit at the bar so you can watch the show.

Fiancée and I stopped in while in the area for a wedding. The place was PACKED (it was a Friday night) but we were able to sit at the diner which was fine by us. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and although we were warned it may take 45 minutes, we were served in half that time. We were fine with waiting anyway. The food was delicious, and the employees were friendly. If we are ever back in the area, we plan on stopping by for breakfast!

Passing through and hungry from ripping the twisties we just pulled in to Lamppost. We asked someone in the parking lot if the food here is any good. They replied that everything here is great, so we gave it a try. The server was a sweetheart with a little sass and a sense of humor and great care. The food was excellent. Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. We have since recommended Lamppost to people from all over and vow to make a return next fall.

Every time I have eaten here I am pleased. The food is always like momma makes. The options are awesome. Got some beef stew and cornbread to bring home for supper.

Great service and better than average food. A bit pricey but much better value than a fast food joint. I know a lot of guests were regulars; it was obvious. It was our first time. We will be back!

Located at 4218 US-411, Madisonville, TN 37354, this unclaimed gem is not just a dining spot but a delightful experience steeped in traditional flavors and home-cooked goodness.

Lamp Post Restaurant offers an array of Southern dishes that are sure to transport you back to your grandmother’s kitchen. The atmosphere is classic diner, comfortable yet bustling with moderate noise, making it an ideal spot for groups and children alike. As one satisfied customer, Krystal W., notes, “This one is absolutely Grandma approved.” The sweet tea has been described as “JUST RIGHT,” and the oversized pancakes are toddler-approved, ensuring that families return again and again.

But it’s not just the food that shines at Lamp Post. The friendly staff contribute greatly to the experience, as brightly noted by Dave B. who remarked on the hard-working team members, creating a warm, inviting dining experience. The good old-fashioned comfort food is served in generous portions at reasonable prices, making it a reliable choice for the locals.

Signature dishes, such as Buffalo Chicken Tenders and Honey Chipotle BBQ Chicken Tenders, also stand out, while classic options like meatloaf and burgers are crowd favorites. While some might critique the diner’s aesthetic—characterized as a dive with its charming yet worn surroundings—the food consistently wins hearts. As Lenora S. emphasizes, “My food was good. The way only scratch made meatloaf and mashed potatoes can be.”

In conclusion, Lamp Post Restaurant embodies the spirit of Southern hospitality and the simplicity of good food. If you seek a comfortable setting where you can indulge in scrumptious, homestyle meals with the company of loved ones, this is the place for you.
